A first for Thomas

his medicated stupor
you can see he's really suffering...

My Thomas was riding down the hill in the woods and hit a bump then a hole then fell off his bike. Just a moment later he called his dad and said " I broke my collar bone " Of course we didn't think that really happened because he makes assumptions like that all the time. We decided to take him to the ER because he couldn't move his arm. Poor Thomas was crying and almost screaming while the ice pack was on his shoulder, at his collar bone. The nurse said she was probably sure he broke it. The radiologist was called in, ( a friend from church ) love the small town, and took a pic. The Dr said it wasn't just a minor break, but a big one. The bones arent even touching anymore! They are laying on top of one another! Thomas had to be adjusted and put into a brace, it was very hard for me to listen to his crying while they adjusted him. He calmed down after 3 doses of medication. I brought him home and he was set up into the downstairs room ( so no one could bump him ) and setteled him into a medicated stupor. Our friend Amy watched over him through the night, and when he woke thismorning he felt better but still not very mobile. He is taking a few days off school, and mentioned " my love of biking is now my downfall." He is in good spirits and loving the well deserved attention.

Goldpanning in Fox

Gregory family
Cavan family Tony, Thomas, Silvia, Albert

Albert's $27 worth of gold!!!

Thomas' large haul!!!

We have been wanting to take the boys goldpanning for years. We finally went to the ElDorado Gold mine, where I worked the summer I met Tony. It was pretty fun for the boys to see where mom used to work. Tony had been there a few times also when he was driving his tourists there.

We went with Tony's family and everyone did very well, accumulating anywhere from $8-$27 worth of gold! After panning we went our 4 wheeling! The boys each had a turn to drive and it was my first time driving as well. I have pics but they are on my phone, haven't figured out how to put them on my computer.

On Sunday Tony blessed my sister's baby and we spent a few minutes taking family pictures. My hair isn't curled so my face looks big but, oh well. My grandparents, aunts and cousins were there, and I even ran into a few old friends from high school. ( Thanks Courtney for taking our pictures!)

summer is here!

We set up the triple lane slip and slide at 55degrees. Not bad for Kodiak in May. The boys in the neighborhood took pleasure in it as well. Our nephew Kaden is in the photos with Albert. Kaden is moving here with his mom, my sister in just a few weeks from Fairbanks. We are thrilled they are making the adventure to Kodiak and hope they will be here a long time.

Happy birthday to my Thomas!!!

Taylor, Thomas, Kimmie,Shak, Albert
Dog pile!!!! Taylor won!

Thomas, Taylor, Shak, Kimmie

15! Happy birthday Thomas.

Thomas was horribly sick for his original birthday party so we re-scheduled it for the 16th. I wasn't sure how I was going to pull it off because I had my state boards that day and Tony had students doing welding certification also. Luckily, my boards went quickly, and I was home in time fo his party. We made pizza, jumped on the trampoline, ate pizza, jumped on the trampoline, ate cake, jumped on the trampoline, and jumped some more.

Thomas had his closest friends over, Shak, Kimmie, and Taylor. On Thomas's origingal birthday, May 4, we had a family dinner with his favorite food, lasagne and I made a coconut cake. Thomas had to blow his candles out about 4 times! He had trick candles:-)

I let Thomas get his own email and facebook accounts as a birthday bonus, he is pretty thrilled about it.

Thomas is now 15, going to be a sophmore in high school and already ahead of schedule as far as credits. He is super smart and loves to help others. He wants everyone to be happy and is always happy himself. He loves to hug and talk, and meet new people. He is my Thomas. xoxo

I have been making jewelery like crazy and loving it! I had many special orders for mothers day and have them all sent out to make it in time for Sunday. I had lots of Easter orders as well. I am considering making a little shop on ETSY to sell my wares. I have enough inventory now to have many pieces available at once. I am posting more photos of my work and the poems that I give with each purchase.

Heart of Gold

Thank you for purchasing this "Heart of Gold" jewelery. Each piece is made with sterling silver and gold nuggets. I panned for the gold nuggets myself in my home town of Fairbanks, Alaska. I hope this jewelery brings a smile to your face as you wear it or gift it. Each purchase will help our family reach our goal of adopting a baby girl to complete our family. Thank you for opening your "Heart of Gold" and helping us reach our goals.

Heart of Gold

Heart of Gold, sterling silver and gold nugget, this jewlery is very close to my heart.
Girls Night Out! This is mostly for fun, but good quality too. It's just fun!

This was a special order for my MaryKay consultant friend Amy. I was inspired by the cover of her new Mary Kay catalog.

My newest jewelry is called "Heart of Gold". I am using sterling silver chain and charms and than applying gold nuggets. I have neclaces, bracelets and charms. I will hopefully add earrings too. The neclaces retail for $45.00 and the bracelts are $35.00. I also have a "Girls Night Out" collection and "Baby Dreams" collection. The "Girls Night Out" collection is sterling silver also, with chandalier earings and Czeck glass. The prices vary. My "Baby Dreams" collection, is baby bracelets. They are being sold at the the local maternity and baby store. The prices vary from $15.00 - $35.00. I am super excited about creating this jewelry! Tony thinks this would be a great regular business for me. When we adopt our baby girl I hope to continue my jewlery making as a stay at home mom. Let me know if you want anything!!! xoxo Silvia

The boys spent all morning shoveling! About 3-4 hours.

I want the green mountains back!

Now that our snow has dumped! I am desperetly wanting sunshine and greeen hills and flowers! We really do live in a beautiful place. We are lucky to be here.

summer fun with my sister

My sister Cynthia and her kids came down for a few weeks last summer. We had so much fun, hiking, playing at the beach and sitting around the fire pit. Her son Kaden is just a few months older than Albert. They have a blast together! Olivia is her little girl and her youngest is Sofia, she wasn't born yet. Enjoy these beautiful photos of Kodiak and my sisters family.

more pics from cavans

Tony was in Homer for his 35th birthday, buying supplies for a fence. We celebrated on Tues St Patricks Day. As Tony was unloading his supplies he hit his head pretty hard and had to go to the ER. His friends took him and dropped him off, (I was still in pajamas) it was about 8 am. I met up at the ER and got to watch the procedure. Tony has 5 stitches in his head now. Because there was no nurse or CNA to help the DR I helped get supplies and assist. Tony is doing well, recovering fast, but can't wear a welding cap yet. His stitches can come out on Thursday. Not the best way to start out your spring break!

The boys wouldnt stay still long enough for a good photo, so this is what you get. Thanks Phillip for taking Tony to the ER

Snow day!

It's very rare Alaska has a snow day, but here we are just one day back from spring break, schools and college all closed! The boys are having fun playing and shoveling.

Before all this craziness, I held my first Cut-A-Thon, to raise $ for our adoption. We did very well and I am excited to do more down the road.

Albert had a music concert a few weeks ago and even played a solo. I accidentaly deleted it but I have his Alutiq dance to show. Hope you all like the photos we have to share. xoxoSilvia
